The Federal Government, On Wednesday Stated That The Facilities Required To Raise Nigeria’s Electricity Output By About 1,600 Megawatts, Under Phase One Of The Presidential Power Initiative, Had Been Delivered And Deployed. Under The PPI, The Federal Government Is Partnering With The German Firm, Siemens, To Deploy Power Transformers, Mobile Stations And Other Facilities, With The Aim Of Growing Nigeria’s Grid Power Generation To 25,000mw.

Providing Updates On The Deal In Abuja, The Federal Government Of Nigeria Power Company, A Special Purpose Vehicle Established To Secure Financing, Coordinate Stakeholders And Enter Contractual Arrangements To Deliver The PPI Projects, Said The First Phase Of The PPI Had Reached An Advanced Stage. The Company Said It Had Received Delivery Of About 80 Percent Of The Equipment For The Pilot Projects, Which Were Being Deployed To Critical Sites Across The Country To Improve Power Transmission Capacity.
