It has been 2 months and counting since the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) embarked on a strike protesting deplorable working conditions and no pay.

However, the government also insisted that the ‘no work, no pay policy would be observed because it is a global practice which is also captured in Section 43 of the Trade Disputes Act recognized by the International Labour Organization, ILO.

Briefing State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, the minister of labour and employement said that the 12-point demand of the NARD, have been met but also noted that the government will not be arm-twisted by the striking doctors not to follow the global standard.
